Episode 113: Firefighter Research with Dr. Brittany Hollerbach

Get involved with Science to the Station!

I had the privilege of meeting Dr. Brittany Hollerbach in person at a Tactical Summit in Texas, and we had a blast talking firefighter research, discussing the pros and cons of Rothy shoes (there are no cons), and touring the famous TEEX training facility together.

Brittany is a g**-damned cheetah, and you're going to love this conversation!

Dr. Brittany Hollerbach is an Associate Scientist and Deputy Director at the Center for Fire, Rescue & EMS Health Research, part of NDRI-USA. She has extensive experience working with the fire service on several federally funded studies, including as the Principal Investigator (PI) on a FEMA-funded study examining perceptions of protective strategies for COVID-19. She is also working on two studies examining the health of women firefighters. Dr. Hollerbach is interested in general firefighter health, given her background as a former firefighter and, specifically, the translation and dissemination of health research.

So what, now what??

Research and data can change the world of firefighting! Get involved with research, read research, and listen to the scientists who interpret the research!
