Episode 10: How the ISP Does Health and Wellness with Troy Torrence

You’re not going to want to miss this conversation! I speak to Troy Torrence, an embedded civilian Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Indiana State Police.

Troy’s job has evolved a lot since he started, but what he’s doing today is absolutely incredible. He has served as the Health Management Specialist for the Indiana State Police Department since 2000. He is the health and physical training coordinator for their new hire enforcement selections, recruit academy, specialty teams, and current civilian and enforcement personnel. He has trained numerous police departments, police department personnel, and police academy trainers. Troy also owns and operates a licensed CrossFit affiliate – CrossFit Fishers with his wife Pam since 2009.

During the podcast, we chat about the benefits of investing in human performance personnel and always asking for exactly what you need in order to get the job done for your people.

So what, now what?

Yes. The ISP is a large agency, but a human performance specialist is not a luxury, but rather a necessity in all public safety agencies.

As Troy says “You can’t afford to not to have these professionals.”
