Episode 1: Launch Of The Fire Rescue Wellness Podcast with Vince Zittnan

In this inaugural episode of the Fire Rescue Wellness Podcast, I speak with Vince Zittnan from Fire and Iron Media and Chicago’s Bravest Stories Podcast.

Vince lives, works, and podcasts from Chicago. He is a Career Paramedic and Firefighter. He has served many jurisdictions over his career and has instructed many academies for the Chicago Fire Department. He is the lead instructor for the Fire Department Paramedic bike team and spent the summer of 2019 as the Mobile Medical Response Team’s coordinator.

Vince is the executive Fitness Trainer and Owner of PSP training academy which is a training facility for public service candidates looking to prepare themselves physically for the EMS, Police, and Fire academies and their respective physical fitness tests. Vince owns Fire & Iron Media with Steve and Corey along with CrossFit Harwood Heights. He is an avid Olympic weightlifter, a CrossFit Level 1 Instructor, and trains jiu-jitsu with his son on his days off.

We talk about his 12-year career as a member of The Chicago Fire Department, the lessons he teaches his students at the academy, and the importance of having a conversation to save your mental wellness.

So what, now what?
Vince advises all fire service personnel to keep tabs on themselves and each other and reach out their hand for assistance if they’re struggling!
